Dr. Dunlevy is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and served seven years as an aircraft carrier pilot. He then received his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington D.C. Following his surgical internship at San Diego Naval Hospital, he served as the Regimental Surgeon with the 9th Marines in Okinawa, Japan. Dr. Dunlevy completed his Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery residency at the Naval Hospital Portsmouth, Virginia.
During residency, Dr. Dunlevy developed a strong interest in snoring and sleep apnea and it followed him into practice. He was the first physician in the Navy to embrace home sleep testing and has used it extensively during his career. Dr. Dunlevy has a busy sleep practice covering all facets of sleep medicine, but concentrates primarily on snoring and sleep apnea.
Dr. Dunlevy is currently board certified in Otolaryngology and Sleep Medicine. As a researcher, Dr. Dunlevy has been published in numerous medical journals.
